Judge for The Castle Corporate Finance Scale-Up Business of the Year Award

Over her 15 years at LSEG, Umerah has focused on how the Group supports SMEs in the UK and from around the world through its markets and key position in the funding landscape. She joined AIM Regulation in 2005 and thereafter moved to the Equity Primary Markets team, focusing on product and policy development. Her work included development of market rules and segments as well as positive fiscal and regulatory changes to better support growing companies as an asset class.

Over the last 6 years Umerah’s been part of the founding team of ELITE – LSEG’s private market connecting companies to private sources of capital, working in partnership with networks and entities across the globe that are equally passionate about helping growing businesses achieve their potential.

Umerah is also a board member of ScaleUp Institute - a private sector, not for-profit company focused on making the UK the most fertile ground for businesses, not only to start up but to scale up and grow.
