One of Britain's most well-known female businesspeople, Jayne-Anne joins Salesforce as it looks to invest $2.5 billion in its UK operations. It's a significant statement of intent from the company, which is already a global leader in cloud-based CRM technology.

It comes around ten months after leaving her previous chief executive role at Virgin Money, after the bank's £1.7bn takeover by CYBG.

As chief executive, Jayne-Anne made headlines in 2011 with the acquisition of Northern Rock from the government, overseeing its rebranding and subsequent stock market flotation.

Prior to confirming her move to Salesforce, Jayne-Anne was widely tipped to take up the chief executive's vacancy at Royal Bank of Scotland. She has also been associated with Stagecoach and Snoop – a start-up that helps consumers save on household bills – since leaving Virgin Money.

Jayne-Anne was named a Dame in the 2019 New Year's honour list – adding to her Leader of the Year Award as a recognition of her role not only as a successful businessperson, but also as an advocate for women in business.
