The Lloyds Bank National Business Awards last week announced its 2019 finalist shortlist. With finalists in 15 categories, they represent the diversity of business excellence across the UK. View the full shortlist here.

The finalists now enter the second stage of judging. Finalists will present their entry in person to the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards' esteemed panel of judges and leading business luminaries prior to the awards ceremony itself, which takes place 12th November at Grosvenor House Hotel.

Allyson Stewart-Allen, the lead judge of the Lloyds Bank Exporter of the Year Award, shared her views on why this next stage of the awards process is particularly exciting.

“What is most exciting about the role as lead judge for the Lloyds Bank Exporter of the Year Award is the chance to meet standout British companies and the dedicated entrepreneurs behind them,” she explained. “The opportunities they have to scale their unique innovations around the globe always reminds me of the UK's unique standing as the most creative marketplace in the world.”

A renowned marketer whose expertise in brand internationalisation is sought by leading businesses globally, Allyson brings a unique perspective to the judging process.

Speaking about Allyson's role, Richard Alvin, Event Director of the National Business Awards, said: “I am pleased that in Allyson we have found one of the sector's leading experts with over 25 years of experience. As an American based in the UK, she has advised over 200 companies about export strategies and will be able to bring a robust level of insight into the judging of this award. It comes at an especially key time for finalists as they battle with uncertainty brought about by Brexit.”

Allyson is part of the wider Lloyds Bank National Business Awards judging panel, which includes Joe Lynam, former business correspondent on BBC's flagship news programme Newsnight; Simon Devonshire OBE, Entrepreneur in Residence, Co-Founder, Investor; Michael Hayman, Co-Founder, Seven Hills; and Nigel Kershaw OBE, Executive Chair, The Big Issue Group.

The judges, alongside sponsors, investors, business leaders and the national media, will all be in attendance at the black-tie awards ceremony. Taking place on the 12th November at Grosvenor House Hotel, it is an opportunity for finalists, entrants and anyone looking to make invaluable connections to network with the best of British business.
