Virgin Atlantic was founded by Sir Richard Branson over 30 years ago. He knew the UK aviation industry needed an injection of style, and wanted to make air travel exciting and enjoyable again.

Fast forward to 2018, and Virgin Atlantic has become the long haul airline for travellers who want flying to be an adventure – whether it's for business or leisure. Every year, they fly more than five million people to more than 30 of the most amazing destinations around the world.

That's why they launched Flying Co, their corporate loyalty programme. They believe business travel should be enjoyable, convenient and brimming with great rewards.

Virgin Atlantic are thrilled to be supporting the National Business Awards, the UK's most prestigious awards programme, representing the best of British ambition, where companies of all sizes and industries show their excellence in business.  Terry Smith, Manager - SME Programmes and New Business at Virgin Atlantic, said “Flying Co is about helping SMEs realise their potential and turn business dreams into reality. And we take travellers between the UK and destinations all over the world to do just that – America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East - so we are honoured to be partnering at this prestigious event.”

“Flying Co is designed to enable small and medium sized businesses to make their budgets go further.  Businesses earn miles on all aspects of business travel which with they can put towards different travel rewards.  We also reward the travellers themselves, as they'll earn their own Flying Club miles in addition to the miles earned for the company. Simple and doubly rewarding,  just the way business travel should be”.

Sarah Austin, Director of the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards said, “We're delighted to be working with Virgin Atlantic, our official travel partners for this year's awards.  These are the ‘Oscars of Great British Business' and the best place for UK companies to showcase their success stories and gain the national recognition they deserve.  Together with Virgin Atlantic, we seek to reward the businesses driving real growth within the UK economy, helping them gain the highest recognition within their respective fields.”

Some of the companies shortlisted for this year's Lloyds Bank National Business Awards include the Cornish Bakery, Principality Building Society, Boost Drinks, Utilita Energy and Centre Parcs.
